Overview

Under this route, one will have to an array of attractions that will leave him totally amazed. This route begins from the capital city and takes the western part of the country. It will take you through several districts like Mpigi and masaka where you will find the 0 degrees latitude-Equator, see various drum makers and then to the land of milk-Mbarara where you will encounter a lot cattle. From here you will pass through L.Mburo national park where you will have a chance of seeing several animals. From here you will head to the west through the undulating hills of Kabale.You will pass via the magnificent mountains of Gahinga,Bisoke and Muhavura until you get to last district of Uganda towards the Rwandan border.

Travel Plan

Day1: Drive to L.Mburo & Boat cruise

On this first day of this route, you will wake up very early in the morning and have a cup of tea. Then you will start your journey to the western part of the country starting from Kampala passing through various Ugandan districts on that highway including a stopover at the 0 degrees latitude. So you will have some experiments here and some art souvenirs and then proceed on your journey. You will reach this national park in the afternoon and have some relaxation plus refreshments. Then you will enjoy your lunch here and then you will get on to the boat and cruise on this lake rewarding you with various animals especially the aquatic life like crocodiles, hippos and the usual terrestrial animals. From here you will head to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day2: Game drive & drive to Kisoro

On this day, you will wake up very early and have a cup of coffee. Then you will get into the jungle for a look out for the animals before they go back to their hideouts from their night escapades. You will spot animals especially the big 5 like elephants, leopards, lions, buffalos as well as others like hyenas, giraffes,zebras and so many others plus various bird species. You will finish up this game drive at around 10 AM and then embark on your drive to Kisoro having your lunch en-route. This is a drive through the undulating hills of Kabale encompassing the three volcanic mountains of Gahinga, Muhabura and Bisoke.You will reach Kisoro in the evening and check in for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Climbing Mountain Mgahinga.

This day is the highlight of this whole route and you will wake up very early in the morning and have a cup of tea. Then you will transfer to the starting point of this whole climb. This climb will take one full day and it will reward you with a lot of adventure. You will return from this climb late in the evening and you will just go back to your accommodation in Kisoro for an overnight.

Day 4: Drive back to Kampala

This will be the last day of this route and you will wake up very early in the morning and have a cup of tea and then embark on your drive back to Kampala. You will have several stop overs on the way for lunch, Igongo cultural centre for artifacts, at the Equator for experiments and souvenirs and at Mpambire drum makers for some drumming sessions. You will reach in the evening and this will mark the end of this route.
