Under this route, one will have to take the south eastern part of the country. Just like all other routes, even this route starts from Kampala since it is the beginning of every profitable route. You will go through the districts of Mityana and Mubende where you will see the most ecstatic tree called Nakayima.You will visit the tombs of Tanda and then to Fort portal which is another district majorly inhabited by foreigners due to its climate and topography. From here you will slope down to Kibale district which houses Kibale forest national park which is the proud home chimpanzees.

Travel Plan

Day 1: Drive to Kibale national park.

This is the first day of this kind of route and you will rise up very early in the morning and have a cup of coffee. Then you will start on the drive to the western region of the country through the districts of Wakiso, Mityana,Mubende and kyenjojo until you get to Fort portal where you will have a stopover for lunch and some refreshments preferably at the Garden restaurant. Then you will proceed taking the road to Kibale national park where you will reach in the evening for your dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking & Bigodi swamp walk

This is the D-day for this route as it is the climax of the activities that might have compelled one to make this kind of route. So you will wake up very early in the morning and have your breakfast. Then you will go to the park headquarters for briefing about these primates. Then from here you will get into the jungle to start the search for these primates. Led by the park guide, you will come across them doing their daily chores of relaxing, feeding their young ones as well as jumping from one tree branch to another. Then after spending some quality time amidst them, you will go for lunch, refreshments and some relaxation. In the evening you will for a nature walk in the famous Bigodi swamp. This walk will help you to spot various bird species, flora and fauna. Then by this time you will be totally exhausted and already late. So you will just retire to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Drive back to Kampala

This will be the last day of this route and you will wake up very early in the morning and have a cup of tea and then embark on your drive back to Kampala. Through the same way via Fort portal, Mubende,Mityana until you reach Kampala in the evening and this will mark the end of this route.
